Welcome to the Dance

Our cute little house has famously been here since 1911. Our signature Salad is even named for it, so we would know. That’s a long time! For reference, The Titanic sank the following year in 1912. We have a salad for that, too.

This house has even withstood two world wars.

In the hundred-plus years this house has stood, it has served as a home for families, a safe haven for local businesses to serve their community and a beacon of countless memories. Chef Robert even propagates a rumor that Elvis once visited, where he dreamed up his famous Elvis Burger. This house truly is a gem of Bradenton history.

That is -of course- why Becky had to have it, when it became available. And so, The Lazy Ballerina was born. A Wine Bar and Bistro with a Southern Charm. Beautiful vision, beautiful location. Bound for success, and yet... Rome wasn’t built over night. A mentor of mine would remind us that 98% of restaurants fail within the first 5 years. We are approaching our third.

In the restaurant business, it takes greatness to persist and succeed.

The pursuit of greatness isn’t a sprint. It is a marathon. It is grit. It is grind. It is vigilance. This next chapter will be no different. Our Chef team has over 50 years of combined experience, with a mix of seasoned cooks and young upstarts.

Our Executive Chef Robert Drulia has spent most of his career training under Sean Murphy at The Beach Bistro and Chef Ray Arptke at Euphemia Haye. Our Sous Chef Martin Franz developed his talents at The Waterfront on Anna Maria Island. Our two top prospects, Tenae Brown and Jaxon Fasel are young in their life and career, but their enormous work ethic and high degree of attention to detail always shines through. On November 17th, we will feature a collaborative menu which captivates the talent and creativity of our amazing staff.

We have cultivated an experience which captures the skill, creative spirit and commitment which we feel will drive us into the future

Join us for a collaborative Chef’s dinner and wine pairing on Monday November 17th at 6PM to celebrate Bradenton history, Fall flavors and creative passion that sets us apart. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Lazy Ballerina Presents
